More generally, in his career so far, with various designers and contractors, Dr Thomas has been involved in many of major tunnelling projects worldwide. Considering just the UK, these include the Jubilee Line Extension, Heathrow Express, Terminal 5, Thameswater Ring Main, Victoria Station Upgrade and Crossrail. In terms of other countries, notably he has worked in Australia, Denmark, Hungary, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Norway, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, Turkey and USA.
